BrianIsbell_FullPage (2).png

The Brian Isbell Scholarship is presented by the L. D. Bell Band Boosters and the family and friends of Brian Stephen Isbell. Brian graduated from L. D. Bell High School in 1993 and passed away in 2012. Brian’s life was immeasurably influenced by the experiences he gained and the friends he made in the L. D. Bell band program. His family and friends wish to share some of the richness that Brian brought to their lives by offering a financial benefit to a young band participant. The scholarship is open to all L.D. Bell band seniors attending a college or university next year, regardless of the student’s intended major.

The Londyn and Lauren Legacy Scholarship is presented by the L.D. Bell Band Boosters and the family and friends of Londyn Tippett and Lauren Bajuk. Londyn and Lauren are L.D. Bell graduates class of 2020 and both shared a passion for the L.D. Bell Band. Both girls were IB scholars and when they weren’t busy studying, they spent their free time attending band camp, mastering their marching routines, and making lifelong friendships. Both would eventually achieve band leadership roles their senior year, Londyn with her flute and Lauren the French horn. Both would take their skills with them to college where they participated in marching band at UNT and UT Austin, respectively.

On June 24, 2022 the girls lost their lives to a distracted driver. Theirs is a loss that will be felt by the L.D. Bell and surrounding communities for years to come. In honor of these two beautiful, bright spirits who embodied the very essence of the band, a scholarship has been created to provide financial assistance in the amount of $2,500 each to two senior band members with plans to attend college in the fall. This one-time award will involve an application process from which a committee will select the winners.
All senior band members attending college in the fall following their senior year are eligible to apply regardless of intended major or current GPA.
