The Londyn and Lauren Legacy Scholarship

 

Two scholarships will be awarded, each in the amount of $2500.00, with one scholarship awarded to each selected student based on the committee’s decision. The possibility of two smaller awards exists at the discretion of the committee. The funds will be submitted directly to a college's financial office. The senior(s) will be recongized at Band Banquet.

 

The deadline for all application parts to be received is Friday, April 17, 2026. All personal information will be kept confidential. Only the committee viewing the applications will have access to the information. To communicate via email, contact ldbellbandscholarship25@gmail.com.

 

Instructions for the Applicant:

Please read and follow all directions on the entire application. 

  1. Visit the L.D. Bell Band website and locate the dedicated scholarship tab. Click on the link designating The Londyn and Lauren Legacy Scholarship to access the instructions and application.

  2. Complete the application. You may complete the application electronically, save a copy and email it to the address listed above.

  3. Request letters of recommendation from two adults. One letter is from an L.D. Bell faculty member and the second is from another adult (not a family member) that can speak to your character and leadership outside of school (employer, church leader, scout leader, etc.). Be sure to give your references plenty of time to complete the letter (at least two weeks is recommended) and thank them for their participation. 

 

For each reference:

  • List the names and phone numbers of each person providing a recommendation in the corresponding portion of the application (questions 17 & 18).

  • Send an email from your email address to the person providing the recommendation. Letters from L.D. Bell faculty must come from a school email address.

  • Carbon-copy (cc) ldbellbandscholarship25@gmail.com.

  • Include this text in your email: “Please send my letter of recommendation only to the scholarship address and not to the student’s email.”

  • Include any other important information in the email as needed. If a reference does not have an email address, he or she may mail a letter to PO BOX 255, Bedford, TX 76095. Address the letter to “L.D. Bell Band Londyn and Lauren Legacy Scholarship. Letters and emails must be postmarked by April 17, 2026.

  1. Complete the personal response (sections 2 and 3 on the application).

  2. You may also include something that showcases your creativity such as an essay, video, artwork or musical composition.

  3. You will be sent and email confirmation by April 20, 2026 with the portions that have been received. If you do not receive a confirmation it may mean that your application was not received. It is your responsibility to contact the email address if you have questions. 

  4. If at any time during the scholarship application process you decide that you are no longer interested in applying please send an email to the address listed. 

This scholarship recognizes a graduating high school senior who demonstrates a genuine passion for band and can clearly articulate the influence band has had on their personal growth and future. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to a University. Although academic achievement will be rviewed, it is not the primary criteria used in the selection process.
