Band Camp ran from early August until school started. Check out the pictures from the camp. The March-A-Thon is one of the band's primary fund raiser activities. The band marched on September 16th, and took 8 hours to cover 10 miles. We had a break in the temperature, (below 90 degrees!) and everyone had a great time. Lunch was prepared by the Band Booster Club and served at the half way point in Sparger Park. Here are some of the scenes. During marching season practices are held before school on some days and after school on others. Here are some of the pictures taken at those practices. Who could forget gathering to watch the sun rise? During marching season many people take pictures before, during and after the games. Thanks to all who have sent in these pictures. On October 7th the band competed in San Antonio at the Regional Bands of America marching contest. Here are some of the pictures taken at this year's San Antonio BOA. On October 14th the band competed at the Birdville Marching Festival. Here are some of the pictures taken at this event. On October 28th the band placed first in the Regional UIL at Pennington field. On November 4th the band competed in Houston at the Regional Bands of America marching contest. Here are some of the Houston BOA pictures. On November 6th the band placed first in the State UIL Competition in Waco. Here are pictures from the State UIL competition. During the Spring the Jazz Band performs at various concerts. Here are pictures from the Jazz Band events. During the Winter and Spring the Winter Guard performs at various events and competetions. Here are pictures from the Winter Guard events. This year the band trip was to Corpus Christi. The group enjoyed a boat tour of Corpus Christi Bay, got in some beach time, visited the aquarium, and went to San Antonio for Fiesta Texas. Check out the pictures of the Band Trip. The Band Banquet was held at the Airport Sheraton. The evening was punctuated with great food, music, recognition and motivational speeches. One of the highlights was the introduction of the 2001 - 2002 marching program. Hang on, it's going to be another exciting year! The Night of Drumming was a huge success. Held on May 18th, the percussionists wowed the crowd with great music and showmanship. May Camp has begun! The band is learning the basics of marching. How did we do? Check out the pictures.
